Taking Sunset to the Westside today at about 12:30, I spied a slim and purposeful bike gliding a few blocks ahead at a coffee shop pace. I was in a hurry, in the same direction, and gave chase. When I got to the light at Crescent Heights, I was stunned to see a ride from my top ten humming at the red. Polished aluminum tank, bobbed fender, parallel twin powerplant and the requisite wrapped pipes. I yelled in excitement “how’d you get that here?!?” I neglected to raise my visor. The rider must have heard a Charlie Brown adult. Anyway, a few lights up he told me the parts were assembled here, but it was infact a Deus from Australia. Their bikes are just done right. Really beautiful work. Check them out at www.deus.com.au, and let them know they ought to bring more of their sleds to our Coast.
